Pre-registration

1. Overview

Utilize ‘Pre-registration’ as a marketing strategy before the official launch of an app. Pre-registrations allow users to learn about the app beforehand and easily access it upon release through notifications and automatic installation.

To make the most of pre-registrations, promote them across various marketing channels and consider offering exclusive rewards. This strategy can significantly boost app awareness and anticipation.

Being featured in ONE store's ‘Pre-registration PLUS’ can further enhance your visibility to a broader audience and provide additional rewards, potentially maximizing early performance.

2. Preparing for Pre-registration

Please review the following considerations before registering for pre-registration.

  • The package name of the app to be released is required.

    • To enter pre-registration information, the app must be registered first. The package name is a mandatory field during app registration and cannot be changed afterward.

  • You cannot run pre-registration for apps in the Beta Game Zone.

    • If you set "Service Type" to "Register as Beta Game Zone Product" when registering the app, pre-registration will not be supported.

  • Pre-registration can be run for up to 180 days.

  • Pre-registration can only be carried out once per country/region before the official launch of the app.

    • Pre-registration cannot be run in countries/regions where the app has already been released.

3. Starting Pre-registration

You can enter pre-registration information under "Android App Mgmt. > Pre-registration". If you do not see this menu, please check in "Android App Mgmt. > Main Info" that "Service classification" is set to "Official release".

Main Information

You can set the basic information for the app to be released.

App Type / Whether information is collected or shared / Crypto application setting / Age rating

  • These must be the same as the official release app. When set in Common Info > Main Info, they will be automatically synchronized.

    • Once the first pre-registration verification request has been submitted, synchronization will end, and the pre-registration will proceed with the information as of that point.

    • When the official app is released in any country/region, the information will be synchronized again with the official app’s basic information.

Pre-registration Manager

  • Enter the contact information of the person responsible for pre-registration, who can discuss promotions or issues related to pre-registration.

    • This contact information will not be disclosed to users.

App Info

Users decide whether to install the app through its detail page. Please provide information that explains the app’s key features and builds anticipation. Additionally, to provide users with a high-quality experience and enhance credibility, please offer recommended languages based on each country/region.

Displayed Information

You can configure pre-registration details for countries/regions where the official app has not yet been released.

Pre-registration Settings

Click the "Settings" button for each country/region to open the Pre-registration Settings pop-up and enter the required information.

  • Recommended Language

    • The primary language used by users in the selected country/region. To maximize the effectiveness of pre-registration, be sure to provide information in this language.

  • Planned Release Date

    • Enter the planned release schedule for the app in the selected country/region. The more specific the release date, the more effective the pre-registration will be.

  • Start and End Date/Time

    • Set the duration of the pre-registration period (up to 180 days).

    • Please take into account the UTC time of the selected country/region when entering this information.

  • Auto-install after release

    • When sending the release notification, you can provide the option for automatic installation.

      • Whether to enable automatic installation is up to the user’s choice, and on some devices that do not support it, a push message may be sent instead.

    • Please note that this option cannot be changed once pre-registration has been approved, so choose carefully.

  • Pre-registration Reward

    • You can enter the rewards to be granted to users who sign up for pre-registration.

      • The supported languages of the selected country/region will be automatically added as tags, and you can input rewards in each language (up to 100 characters per language).

      • For any language not entered, the first language provided will be used as a substitute.

    • Pre-registration rewards are benefits that the developer provides to all registrants or to users upon their first login to the game.

    • While you may choose “Not Provided”, it is recommended to provide differentiated rewards—such as in-game mail, universal coupon codes, or launch-day benefits—to help drive stronger early performance.

    • The scale and composition of in-game rewards offered as pre-registration benefits can be freely determined according to the game developer’s internal policies.

  • Pre-registration Notes

    • You can enter information to guide or inform users about pre-registration progress and rewards.

      • The supported languages of the selected country/region will be automatically added as tags, and you can input notes in each language (up to 500 characters per language).

      • For any language not entered, the first language provided will be used as a substitute.

    • It is recommended to include details such as the eligibility for pre-registration rewards, distribution timing, how to claim them, and their validity period.

Requst for Review

To proceed with pre-registration, verification must be completed through a Requst for Review”. Verification can be requested by country/region, and no additional requests can be made while a verification is in progress.

  • Eligible for Verification Request

    • Only countries/regions where all required pre-registration information has been entered (excluding those where the app has already been released) are eligible for verification requests.

    • Even if verification has already been completed, if you request verification for another country/region, they will be verified together.

Review Status

  • In Review

    • The review request has been submitted.

    • You can cancel the review request before the review is completed.

  • Review Completed

    • review has passed, and the app is ready to proceed with pre-registration.

    • Pre-registration will automatically start at the designated start date and time.

  • Rejected

    • Review has been rejected. Please check the "Review Results", meet the required corrections, and then submit a new "Review Request".

Progress Status

  • Draft

    • The pre-registration is still in draft status, as the review has not yet been completed.

  • Standby

    • The status after the review has been completed but before pre-registration begins.

    • Pre-registration will automatically start at the designated start date and time.

  • In Progress

    • Pre-registration is currently active.

    • The pre-registration page can be accessed via the following URLs, and once the official app is released, it will automatically redirect to the official app page.

      • Korea, United States, Singapore: https://onesto.re/{PID}

      • Taiwan (Kuai Le Wan Store): https://enjoy.store/{PID}

    • The status can be changed to Paused.

  • Paused

    • The pre-registration page remains available to users, but new pre-registration sign-ups are restricted.

    • You can choose to Delete the pre-registration. When deleted, all pre-registration information for that country/region will be reset.

      • Reset information cannot be restored, and pre-registration in that country/region will require submitting a new review request.

  • Closed

    • The pre-registration has ended because the end date/time has passed or the official app has been released.

    • The pre-registration page remains available, but users can no longer apply for pre-registration.

  • Unable to Proceed

    • If inaccurate information or user deception is identified, the app may be subject to penalties.

Release Notification

You can set the time to send release notifications when the official app is launched in each country/region.

Set Up Release Notification

  • Release notifications can only be set within 48 hours from the launch time in each country/region.

    • You can select a time within 3 days after launch, in 1-hour increments, starting from 1 hour after release.

  • Please take into account the UTC time of each country/region when configuring the schedule.

  • If the notification time is set during nighttime hours, it will only be sent to users who have agreed to receive nighttime notifications.

  • Since release notifications and Auto-install are executed simultaneously, if you do not set up a release notification, Auto-install will not be provided either.

If you do not set a release notification within 48 hours of the release of the official product, 'release notification' and 'auto-installation' will not proceed. Additionally, in countries/regions that provide pre-registration PLUS rewards, the rewards will not be provided.

Statistics

Once pre-registration begins, you can view the statistics collected up to the previous day (based on UTC+0:00).

  • Pre-registration Applicants

    • This is the number of users who applied for pre-registration. If a country/region is selected for “Pre-registration PLUS,” the number also includes users who applied for “Pre-registration for All Games”.

    • Since “Pre-registration for All Games” applicants are counted separately by country/region, the number of applicants may vary across countries/regions.

    • The number of applicants may contain discrepancies due to factors such as account withdrawal from ONE store, login ID changes, logouts, or device changes.

    • Depending on the country/region and age rating of the released product, the number of users receiving release notifications may differ.

  • Auto-install Applicants

    • This is the number of users among the pre-registration applicants who allowed Auto-install. If “Auto-install after release” was set to Not Provided, this information will not be available.

    • The number of applicants may differ slightly due to account withdrawal from ONE store, login ID changes, logouts, or device changes.

    • Depending on the country/region and age rating of the released product, the number of Auto-install applicants and the actual number of Auto-installs may vary.

  • By selecting the [Details] button, you can check detailed statistics for each country/region.

4. Pre-registration PLUS

All pre-registrations you apply for may be reviewed by ONE store and selected as Pre-registration PLUS. Pre-registration PLUS provides product information and benefits that can increase anticipation for the launch, and offering multiple supported languages can further improve your chances of being selected.

Benefits of Pre-registration PLUS

  • During the period selected as Pre-registration PLUS, your app will be featured on the store’s Pre-registration PLUS page.

  • Once selected, a Pre-registration PLUS badge will appear under "Android App Mgmt. > Pre-registration > Displayed Information.

  • A push notification will be sent to users who applied for Pre-registration Start Notifications.

  • Users who applied for Pre-registration for All Games will be automatically registered for your pre-registration.

    • Since Pre-registration for All Games users are counted separately by country/region, the number of applicants may vary across countries/regions.

  • Selection for Pre-registration PLUS, the benefits, and the exposure period on the Pre-registration PLUS page may differ depending on the country/region.

5. Official App Release Notes

Make sure to check the notes below for a better environment when auto-installing released Apps.

Get prepared so that installation doesn't get blocked by Google's Play Protect

Warnings stating 'Blocked by Play Protect' might appear if Apps are auto-installed in cases listed below. Make sure to 'File an appeal' at 'Play Console Help > App verification' before release notification is sent to users.

  • If the package name of the App is not registered in Google Play

  • If the registered App and package name is identical but App signing is different
